Summary
In the basement of the Abelard mansion lives a beast named Desi. Moved by pity for Desi who is whipped every day, Selly secretly visits him—bringing him food and speaking to him in hushed whispers. Little by little, she wins his guarded heart. One day, Count Abelard decides that Desi must be disposed of for reasons unknown. When Selly learns of this, she unchains him and urges him to escape.
“If I leave this place, I won’t be able to see you again.”
“That’s how life is,” Selly replies. “Once we give our hearts, we can never take them back.” Unable to leave her behind, Desi chooses to stay. From that moment on, the two begin a secret cohabitation in Selly’s room, hidden from the world. And then— “I like you so much, Selly. You’re lovely. I want all of you. I want to devour you.”
