The brief tension quickly disappeared and soon a calm atmosphere flowed. Grayson suddenly remembered as he saw the cat rubbing its head against Dane’s chest and purring peacefully.
I should have been born a cat.
As if he didn’t care about his thoughts, Dane kissed the cat on the head once more and put it back where I was. Until then, Dane lightly pointed his finger at Grayson, who had been standing there blankly, and said.
“Wow, I’ll give you some coffee.”
Anyway, as if a guest was a guest, Dane walked ahead and pulled out a dining chair with one hand and went straight into the kitchen. Grayson sat hesitantly on the chair that was crooked and looked toward the kitchen with his head stretched out. Dane boiled water in an electric kettle and took out instant coffee from the cupboard. As if he had never measured the amount with a spoon in his life, he tilted the large coffee container and poured the coffee into a mug. After pouring hot water, he didn’t stir it either, just shook the cup roughly and brought it to Grayson.
“Okay.”
“Uh……thank you.”
Grayson couldn’t hide his nervous expression even though he said politely. It was the first time he’d seen someone make coffee like this. However, he wasn’t particularly rude to Grayson. As expected, Grayson had to keep his mouth shut when he saw Dane drinking his coffee made the same way.

Suddenly, Dane blurted out. Grayson, who was thinking about something else, stopped and looked at him. Dane must have misunderstood his reaction and added in a casual tone.
“He’s blind and deaf, so he’s sensitive. He’d be surprised if someone unfamiliar touches him, so just take a picture.”
“Oh, um. That’s right.”
Grayson nodded as if he understood and hid his expression as if he was drinking coffee. The cat was just an excuse, and his real intention was to visit Dane’s house, so he kept forgetting about Darling. Anyway, he achieved his goal, but he had no intention of being satisfied with that. Now that he was finally alone with Dane, he planned to find out as much about him as possible. What should he say? It would be good to start with a topic about cats……..
Grayson thought about that, but he felt something strange. Why did the living room look unusually empty? He wondered for a moment, then realized it.
“No sofa?”
Now that he thought about it, it was strange that he had guided him to the dining table instead of the sofa. There seemed to be plenty of space in the living room. Dane answered Grayson’s question absentmindedly.
“I sold it. I’m going to put the cat tower you gave me there.”
“Really……?”
He nodded absentmindedly, but then stopped.
“What about the cat tower I sent? I thought you’d assemble it.”
The cat tower Darling was resting on looked quite worn out even to Grayson, who didn’t know much about it. When he questioned the fact that he couldn’t see the fancy cat tower he had seen anywhere, Dane opened his mouth with a still indifferent expression.
“I can do it. It’s just annoying to ask someone else to do it.”
“You’re doing it yourself?”
It looked quite complicated. Grayson was surprised, but Dane seemed to be used to this kind of thing, remaining calm.

Looking around the house again, he felt strange touches here and there. The old house, which must have been built 100 years ago, must have had a lot of touches here and there. Grayson, who could easily imagine Dane climbing up on the roof and doing repairs, came up with a suitable topic.

Dane readily agreed. The conversation continued naturally. Grayson and Dane talked about a lot of small things. This was what he had hoped for, but the problem was that the content was empty. Who would come all the way to their house to talk about house repairs like this?

Grayson found a good moment to open his mouth.
“Now that I think about it, I don’t see anyone else. Are all the family members gone?”
He asked as if nothing had happened. It was a question he was curious about, but Dane readily answered as he said it casually, as if he was talking about the weather.

He then stared at Grayson with a cold gaze.
“Didn’t  I tell you before? I’m alone.”
The air that had been so loose until now became tense. Grayson could immediately sense that Dane was immediately putting up a defensive barrier. He quickly smiled as if nothing had happened.
“Did I? I guess I forgot.”
Grayson deliberately glanced at Darling and then glanced back at Dane.
“But isn’t it wrong to say that you’re alone? You have Darling.”
At those words, Dane turned his gaze to Darling. His expression, which had seemed indifferent until then, suddenly became filled with emotion.
“Ahh… well, that’s right.”
Dane said that, but Grayson felt a strange chill. What is this? He felt something was off, but it was hard to figure out what it was. Why am I feeling this way?

Suddenly, Grayson realized. Even Darling couldn’t hold this man back.

Grayson came to his senses at the sudden ringing of the doorbell. Dane also stopped. Judging from the way he frowned, it was clearly an unexpected visitor.

Grayson stood up awkwardly and looked at the door, and Dane opened it. Through the open door, he saw a woman with brown hair whom he had never seen before. The moment he realized that her face, half-hidden by Dane, was covered in anxiety, Dane opened his mouth.
“Who…?”
Dane had his back turned, but Grayson could tell that he was frowning. He slowly got up and walked towards Dane. As he got closer, the woman’s face came into view more clearly. He felt something inside him twist as he confirmed that she was a lovely woman with a slender body that he could wrap his arms around.
“Hey, Dane. Don’t you remember me? We met at a club about three months ago……
Dane scratched his head as if trying to remember her words. Since he had come all the way here, it was clear that Dane had brought her home and had sex with her, but he couldn’t remember at all. The woman seemed impatient and hurried to continue.
“You bought me Cinderella that day. When I said I couldn’t drink well, you said, ‘How about this?”
“Ah……”
He vaguely remembered. I was surprised that she couldn’t drink despite being good at partying. He bought her a non-alcoholic cocktail and made a few meaningless jokes before bringing her home and spending the night with her.
