Desire Me If You Can [Novel] - Chapter 73
Why do I have to endure this?
As frustration began to boil up inside him, Dein thought bitterly. If this guy had lived decently in the first place, wouldn’t he have avoided being kidnapped by his brother? Why is everything my fault, why!
“Are you done now? Is there nothing more for me to do?”
Returning to his usual attitude, Dein asked irritably, prompting Grayson to furrow his brow.
“You’re the one who got raped, and now you’re the one getting angry? Is that the right attitude?”
“So what do you expect me to do?”
There’s no situation or opponent that can be handled with money. If he wants me to go to prison, I can’t help it. Raping a supreme alpha, I’ll be the center of tremendous attention for a while, but it will soon fade. I’m worried about Darling, but I can trust Yeonwoo with him. How many years would I have to live? The opponent is the Miller Law Firm. Suddenly, a thought struck Dein.
Could it be for life…
As a chill ran down his spine and cold sweat broke out, Grayson suddenly spoke up.
“Let’s go on a date.”
Despite hearing what Grayson said, Dein did not understand immediately. After a few seconds of silence, he furrowed his brow and asked.
“What?”
To his short question, Grayson, looking tired but not much different from usual, said,
“Let’s, go on a date.”
Dein stared at him speechlessly. For a long time, they just looked at each other in silence.
“A date, with you, and me?”
Dein repeated each word slowly. Pointing his second finger at Grayson and then turning it towards himself, his face mixed with confusion and absurdity. Grayson, with a face not much different from earlier, simply nodded and repeated the same words.
“Let’s go on a date, with me.”
Dein silently stared at Grayson. What is this nonsense? What the hell is going on in this guy’s head… As these thoughts ran through his mind, Grayson’s genitals caught his eye. At that moment, Dein gave up on understanding Grayson Miller.
“Just…”
Dein hesitated, about to say ‘let’s sleep on it and end it.’ He remembered Grayson Miller saying he never sleeps with the same person twice. Instead, Dein suggested another way.
“Touch it, and let’s end this.”
It was irritating, but there were no other options. If this could substitute going bankrupt or spending a lifetime in jail, it might be a cheap deal…
Thinking this, Dein pushed forward his chest, and Grayson’s gaze, which had been fixed on his face, dropped. Seeing his expression soften and his eyes dilute, Dein thought it was over. Grayson raised his hand in a daze, and just as he was about to touch Dein’s chest.
“No, no, that’s not what I mean.”
Suddenly, Grayson snapped back to reality. Like a dog shaking off water after emerging from a swim, he hastily retracted his hand and forcibly turned his eyes back to Dein’s face.
“I’m saying let’s go on a date! Not just touch your chest! That’s after the date, or during, or anyway, I’m talking about going on a date, I am.”
“Just end it by touching my chest. Here.”
Dein tempted him again, but Grayson turned both hands behind his back, clasped them tight, and stubbornly shook his head. This guy, surprisingly, isn’t falling for it. Dein was annoyed and almost decided to release his pheromones to scold him. He had to resolve this situation soon. Dein was the one in a hurry. He was worried about how Darling was doing and had to be prepared for any situation.
Sighing again in frustration, Dein finally asked in a deflated tone.
“So, what do you want to do with me?”
Placing one hand on his hip, Dein asked as Grayson furrowed his brow.
“It’s a date.”
To the same answer, Dein asked again.
“So what are we going to do?”
As the conversation continued to go around in circles, Grayson finally spoke up.
“Haven’t you ever been on a date?”
Sharp as always. Dein felt a sting but responded nonchalantly.
“Not with you.”
Dein flipped the conversation with ease and looked at Grayson with his usual indifferent expression. As if to say, ‘why wouldn’t I have been on a date?’ Grayson seemed puzzled but let it slide.
“Let’s have a meal together… and spend time together.”
This guy has no special thoughts either.
Thinking this, Dein readily nodded.
“Fine, but isn’t there something we have to do first?”
Pointing upwards, Grayson, as if he expected it, turned around and went outside. A moment later, a slight vibration occurred, and the entire house moved. Finally, they emerged above ground.
This guy, definitely hasn’t been on a date.
Grayson was doubtful. After all, since they called a helicopter from the mansion for an escape and started the date immediately, they hadn’t really done anything yet, and Dein was only attending to his own business.
The first place they went was a vet. Grayson, puzzled about why they came here, watched as Dein suddenly found a cat, was told it needed to stay a few more days for tests, then left.
And then, as if now it was really starting, Dein bought a cell phone and made a call. Then, meeting a man who looked clearly disreputable, they exchanged a few words before Dein called Grayson over.
“Hey!”
For the first time, Dein called out to Grayson, who had been idly wandering around. Grayson slowly approached Dein, wary of the suspicious situation. Dein nonchalantly flicked his hand towards him.
“Give me money.”
“What?”
“Quickly.”
To anyone watching who didn’t know their relationship, it would certainly look like Grayson was being extorted. The reality wasn’t much different.
Without understanding why, Grayson rummaged through his pockets and handed over a hundred dollars. Dein, knowing that asking for explanations only led to abuse and a waste of time, had learned that giving what was wanted was the best way to end the situation quickly. What this was all about could be asked later.
“Thanks, first time I’m buying this medication. Someone must have made a big mess.”
The man smirked and handed Dein a packet of pills. Ignoring Grayson’s frowning face, Dein casually shook hands with the man and turned back the way they had come. Then, he poured the pills into his palm and started walking while chewing on them.
“What are those pills?”
Grayson hurriedly followed and immediately asked the question on his mind. Dein, still walking forward without looking back, casually answered.
“Morning-after pill.”
Grayson, who had been striding along with large steps, stopped dead in his tracks. Dein, unconcerned about his reaction, continued moving forward as he spoke.
“I might be pregnant, so I obviously need to take it. This medication is effective if taken within a month. So, no more worries.”
Grayson, stunned, stood there blankly before belatedly rushing after Dein.
“Wait, why didn’t you buy it at a pharmacy…”
Trailing a step behind and asking, Dein frowned and glanced back at him.
“Idiot, because they don’t sell it at pharmacies, I buy it here. You think the government would approve this kind of
drug?”
Grayson’s face immediately turned pale.
“What? So you just recklessly took a drug that hasn’t been properly verified?”
As if he heard the hidden words behind that, or perhaps even if he did hear, showing no interest, Dein casually
retorted.
“If it’s needed, what choice is there?”
Grayson, at a loss for words, could only stare at the back of Dein’s head. Noticing his gaze, Dein added in a lighter tone than before.
“Don’t take it too seriously, it’s also a drug made by pharmaceutical companies. It just hasn’t been approved, that’s
all.”
“Or hasn’t sought approval?”
At Grayson’s question, Dein smirked and glanced back at him.
“You’re quick on the uptake, as expected.”
