Desire Me If You Can [Novel] - Chapter 65
The sudden situation left Dane blinking in confusion. What the hell is going on?
The moment of confusion didn’t last long. He quickly regained his composure and shouted urgently.
“What are you doing? Are you crazy?”
He wanted to rush over and pull Grayson inside immediately, but it wasn’t easy. The wind was too strong, and if he wasn’t careful, they might both fall, and that would be the end of everything. Grayson stood facing the open door with his back to the gaping space, holding onto the top. If that hand slipped even a little… just imagining it made Dane shiver.
“Stop it! What are you doing? It’s dangerous! You’re going to die!”
While trying to maintain balance in the shaking helicopter, Dane shouted with his torso half bent. Grayson remained standing there, opening his mouth.
“I can’t take it anymore. I’m getting out.”
“Where the hell do you think you’re going, you piece of shit! Stay right there! Don’t move, I’ll help you, just stay there!”
Dane yelled desperately. Grayson, with a pale face, was trembling, his fear clearly showing on his face. He was in full panic, completely out of his mind. Damn it! When Dane felt that crushing sense of helplessness, Grayson spoke.
“Goodbye. It was fun while it lasted.”
“No…!”
The moment Grayson let go of the door handle seemed to stretch in Dane’s vision, as though time was slowing down. The fingers slowly detached from the handle, and it felt like an eternity. Dane’s body, propelled by his scream, moved forward, but whether it was due to the resistance of the wind or something else, it felt strangely heavy and slow. His hand reached out. Just as he thought it was futile, that his hand would swish through empty air, suddenly, Grayson grabbed Dane’s arm.
In that instant, Dane was jerked off balance. Grayson, holding him, whispered above him.
“I got you.”
“What…”
Dane looked up and saw Grayson looking down at him, a smile tugging at his lips. And the next moment… “Whoa!”
Grayson, still holding Dane, threw himself into the air. Dane screamed, clutching onto him tightly. “Ahhhhhhhhhh!”
Grayson’s huge laugh echoed in his ears. His voice was full of joy, like he was mad with excitement, and Dane clenched his teeth, repeating curses under his breath. Damn it, damn it, damn it! Is this how it ends? To die so absurdly because of this crazy bastard? And falling straight to the ground.
His body plummeted at a terrifying speed. It was the end. He would hit the ground, shatter into pieces. The fierce wind struck his skin, and as he fell, Dane couldn’t hold back his roar.
“I’m going to kill you, you fucking bastard!”
Just then.
“Ugh!”
Suddenly, something yanked at his whole body, and a guttural sound escaped Dane’s mouth. His body, which had been falling uncontrollably, slowed down and began to float. The wind that had been battering his entire body softened considerably.
The reason became clear quickly. Grayson had deployed a parachute. In disbelief, Dane stared with his mouth agape. Grayson, once again, laughed heartily.
“Surprise! Gotcha, didn’t you?”
Dane blinked in silence, staring at him. Only then did he realize why Grayson had stood with his back to the open door when the door was first opened.
He didn’t want Dane to see the parachute.
Why didn’t I notice that? A wave of self-reproach washed over him, but there was no real excuse. The situation had escalated so suddenly, and his vision had been blocked by the danger. His mind had been so focused on getting Grayson off that he didn’t think to assess the situation calmly. Realizing this, Dane now wanted to kick himself, not Grayson.
But that could wait until they landed. Right now, all he could do was hold onto Grayson to make sure they didn’t fall. Clenching his teeth, he begrudgingly held on to him, and suddenly, something was pressing between his legs.
This bastard? His face drained of color, and when he looked at Grayson again, he saw that his cheek was flushed red. Grayson let out a sticky sigh and, with a look of ecstasy, whispered.
“If we had sex while falling, I’d make it worth your while.”
Saying that, Grayson grabbed Dane’s butt with a big hand. Dane quickly checked how far they were from the ground. He swore to himself. I’m going to kill him, I’ll fucking kill him…
This fucking piece of garbage.
As soon as their feet hit the ground, the two of them tumbled and rolled on the floor. The first to regain his balance and stand up was, of course, Dane. As Grayson, still affected by the parachute, was struggling to stand, Dane ruthlessly kicked him. With a short scream, Grayson rolled away again, and Dane immediately chased after him, kicking again. Thud, thud, thud-the dull sound of the kicks echoed, but Dane’s anger still hadn’t cooled.
“Die, die, die, you fucking bastard! Just die!”
“Heh heh, heh heh.”
Despite the kicks, Grayson kept shaking his body and laughing as though something was so amusing. That sight only fanned the flames of Dane’s anger, and when he finally stopped kicking, he was panting, shoulders heaving. Covered in dirt and with blood dripping from his mouth, Grayson, however, seemed to be enjoying himself, still chuckling.
“When did you take off the handcuffs?”
Dane, panting heavily, spat out the words, and Grayson, unconcerned, raised his free hands, showing his freedom, and smiled.
“Back when I was alone. It’s easy to do. You just have to pop out the thumb joint like this…”
Grayson, explaining how he had done it with such enthusiasm, left Dane speechless. It was a mistake to leave him alone first and then join him later. He had thought Grayson was unconscious, but it turned out he had been awake from the beginning.
Sighing and rubbing his temple, Dane looked down at Grayson, who was now sitting carelessly on the ground, arms crossed.
“So, what now?”
His teeth ground together. They were stranded in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nothing. Who, where, how would they find and rescue them?
The only hope was if the pilot contacted them and Joshua came to rescue them. But how long would that take? No one knew. Would they be able to survive under the scorching California sun without a single bottle of water? His chest began to burn with anxiety.
Of course, all of this was caused by this crazy bastard.
When the urge to kick him again rose, Grayson spoke up at just the right moment.
“My father has a villa nearby.”
Of course, it seemed like he had something else in mind when he jumped out of the helicopter. Dane thought to himself, but an odd feeling began to stir.
“A villa? Out here? Why?”
Grayson leisurely stood up and answered.
“Probably to keep Daddy imprisoned.”
What the hell was he talking about? Dane frowned, and Grayson, trying to smile, stopped abruptly as he winced in pain. His torn lips hurt as he pulled them into a thin line and said:
“My father has many villas for that purpose. I’m not sure how many he’s actually used, but… anyway, he always seems to have one ready. So, if we go there, we can rest easily.”
His tone was as dull as someone talking about what they had for breakfast. Dane stared at him for a moment before giving up. How the hell could he understand these crazy people? For now, the most important thing was to
get out of this situation.
“Where is it? Tell me.”
Grayson, brushing off the dirt from his clothes, tugged at his jacket sleeves and straightened himself up. Seeing him trying to tidy up his ragged clothes made Dane feel no amusement at all. He was in disarray, with his hair messy and his clothes torn to shreds. Grayson looked at Dane, who was glaring at him, as he finally gestured toward one direction. Dane hesitated for a moment, then turned back to Grayson. His face, which had been pale earlier, was now composed and clean.
Dane asked through clenched teeth.
“You lied, didn’t you?”
Grayson grinned.
“Are you an omega?”
With a loud sound, Dane slammed his fist into Grayson’s chin.
