Desire Me If You Can [Novel] - Chapter 59
Ezra, who barely understood Grayson’s words mixed in with the noise, asked while drinking his beer.
“Huh? Are you talking about Dane? Didn’t you say you met him too?”
Grayson answered while looking at his puzzled face.
“Yes.”
A faint smile appeared on his lips.
“I met him.”
“See, I said so.”
Ezra continued to drink his drink while talking excitedly. He let his words go out one ear and thought about what would happen next.
“What? Let’s all go to the club together?”
Dane asked back, frowning after hearing the news from Ezra. Ezra nodded and explained, happily sharing the
news.
“Miller doesn’t mix well with us. So let’s get to know each other a little better. After all, we’re on the same team……
Of course, Dane didn’t think so.
“It’s only been a year? It’s been about ten months.”
When he roughly said the remaining time, excluding the time that had passed, Ezra frowned and patted his arm a couple of times.
“Dane, at least we should get along while we’re here.”
Ezra added, trying to coax him.
“Miller is just a normal person like us. He just has a different personality.”
Dane’s response was immediate.
“Are you drunk, Ezra?”
Instead of answering, he looked at Dane with a reproachful expression. Then Ezra sighed and changed his tone to console Dane.
“Dane, we misunderstood. Miller isn’t such a bad guy. He’d be a lot better if we just helped him a little.”
“You’re backing down too much, Ezra.”
Dane still didn’t change his mind. But Ezra knew what to do in a situation like this. There were already three stubborn daughters.
“Yeah, yeah. I get what you’re saying. Anyway, let’s all go together. If you reach out to us first to get to know us, it’s rude to refuse, right? Let’s just go and blow off some steam and come back. If you’re busy, you can just make up a cat excuse and leave early. The important thing is that you showed your face. Okay?”
Ezra continued to persuade him. Dane stubbornly kept his mouth shut, but eventually sighed deeply and ran a hand down his face.
“It’s not a cat excuse. Darling worries if I’m late, really.”
“Yeah, of course.”
Ezra patted Dane on the back as if he knew everything, and quickly smiled.
“So that’s okay? You know you’re going too? Huh?”
Dane waved one hand up and down as if to tell him to go away after repeated confirmation. If he bothered him any more, he would definitely get angry. Knowing that this was quite generous from Dane’s perspective, Ezra quickly backed away.
Now I can clear up the misunderstanding with Dane.
He walked lightly with a smile on his lips. Drinking with Grayson the day before was a very good choice. During that fruitful time, Ezra cleared up many misunderstandings about Grayson and now considered the man to be a pretty decent person.
The first impression wasn’t very good, but we were the ones who attacked first, so……..
All’s well that ends well. With this, the button that was wrongly put on at first will be put back in place.
Dane, who turned around with a refreshed face and watched Ezra’s back as he walked away, brought the can he was drinking to his mouth and downed it in one gulp. The bubbles of the soft drink burst loudly in his mouth, stinging his throat.
What are you thinking, that bastard?
Dane thought with a frown. Grayson Miller turned out to be a good guy. That was ridiculous. Ezra was deeply mistaken.
One of his few shortcomings was that he always looked at the world in a rosy light because he was so good at people. He never thought about why the super alphas were called psychopaths.
Well, all humans are like that.
It’s not just because they’re psychopaths. Humans are inherently cruel and shameless. So Ezra’s words weren’t so wrong. Super alphas are just ordinary people like us.
They’re just plain shameless, just plain shameless.
He thought that far and soon snickered. I’m no different.
Loud music rang out everywhere. Ezra’s mind was also dazed by the music that hurt his ears. It took a lot of energy to walk through the swaying bodies of the dancers and the flashing lights from all directions. By the time I finally got to the bar and ordered a beer, I already felt completely drained.
“Are you okay? Come on.”
DeAndre snickered and spoke. Ezra shook his head and answered after gulping down the cold beer.
“I don’t like places like this. This is amazing. I was exhausted just getting here, and now they’re out there dancing.” Ezra, who had been speaking in awe, slowly lowered the beer bottle he was about to bring back to his mouth. DeAndre, who was standing next to him, was also staring blankly in the same direction.
Dane was dancing there. Under the crazy lights, his body was naturally swaying, and the woman he had never seen before was moving with him, so anyone who saw him was definitely enjoying it. DeAndre, who saw her hugging her waist with one arm and kissing her neck, asked indignantly.
“Didn’t that kid say he didn’t want to come?”
“I did.”
Ezra answered. DeAndre snorted and brought his beer to his mouth.
“Oh my, you seem to be enjoying it the most?”
“That’s right.”
Ezra answered with a blank face again at the voice full of sorrow. Suddenly, he looked to the side and saw Grayson leaning against the bar, drinking beer. Feeling awkward for no reason, Ezra checked Grayson’s expression, but it was hard to read his expression because of the dazzling lights.
“Hey.”
Grayson hesitated when he called out loud and looked down at him. Ezra’s heart grew heavier as he saw his softly curved eyes.
“Have you talked to Dane?”
This time, Grayson just shook his head silently at the words he shouted with all his might. Ezra slumped his shoulders in disappointment.
Ha, then that’s right. He thought to himself. When he said a club, he should have suggested changing the location. It wasn’t a place to drink in the first place, and Dane wouldn’t come to a place like this and just drink quietly and leave.
He regretted it, but it was already too late. It was Grayson’s fault for choosing the club in the first place. He said he wanted to become friends, so he must have chosen a place Dane would like, and this kind of fun atmosphere might help……..
He should have decided that based on the other person. Bringing a man who always catches someone on his day off and has a one-night stand here is like putting an aquarium in front of a cat.
Ezra shook his head again and brought his beer to his mouth. Thinking that he was the one who should go home early, not Dane.
“Would you like to go to my house with me?”
The woman pressed her chest against Dane’s body asked. She said she had come with two friends and that she would share everything with them, including where they lived. That meant that included that. It was not that she had never dealt with three people at once, but today was too late.
“Sorry, next time.”
He kissed them all in turn, deeply, as if he were apologizing, and said goodbye. With a light wave, Dane came down from the floor, brushing his sweaty hair back as he walked to the bar where his colleagues were waiting. The rest of the men looked on bitterly as he ordered a beer and drank it like the others. Ezra, who had been silently staring at him as he swallowed the cold alcohol down his throat, finally spoke after Dane took the bottle out of his mouth.
“You look really happy, you.”
“Not bad.”
“What? Not bad? Not bad?”
DeAndre, who was standing right next to him, shouted in an exaggerated manner.
“You can only say it’s not bad? If it’s good, what, how much, and how are you going to do it? Huh? Just now, with three women, huh? You were just like this, like this, huh? And what? It’s not bad?”
“You even kissed! Three of them!”
“You bastard, you’re the enemy of humanity! Be cursed!”
Voices of condemnation poured out from here and there. Dane emptied his remaining beer with a cold face. The loud music continued to blare in his head. Should he go back? Looking at the time, it was quite late.
Of course, he didn’t want to go back without doing anything. As he slowly looked around the room to find a suitable partner, his eyes met with a plump, cute man with a moderate amount of fat.
