Desire Me If You Can [Novel] - Chapter 57
Dane, still facing George, asked.
“Is your bed big?”
George, his eyes lighting up, eagerly answered in an excited voice as if he’d been waiting for the question.
“Of course, it’s huge! It’s big enough for the two of us to roll around in! Ha, how about you come and see for yourself? Then you’ll know for sure! My house is just a short distance from here, you know that, right? It’s right over there…”
With his quick and urgent exclamations, Dane casually responded.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s small. The smaller, the better, right? I can go deeper.”
It was an incredibly blunt statement, but George didn’t feel the slightest bit embarrassed. If anything, he seemed pleased and, with a grin, asked.
“The bathtub is really small, though, what if we got in there together?”
“Not a bad idea.”
Dane readily accepted the question, and George, breathless with excitement, jumped into the car. Grayson, once again shocked by how perfectly fine George was-when just moments ago, he had been struggling to walk- couldn’t help but be dumbfounded.
“You’re telling me that guy’s going to bed with him?”
Grayson asked from behind as Dane was about to walk towards the driver’s seat. Dane turned and replied. “Why, is that so hard to believe? Are you wondering if I’m going to clean up for him or something?” “Well, I’m pretty sure that’s not it.”
Grayson took a step back, still flustered. The situation unfolding before him was nothing like he had imagined. “Weren’t you a beta?”
“Yeah, I am.”
Dane answered nonchalantly, but Grayson’s confusion only grew.
“So you’re sleeping with a man?”
Sleeping with someone of the same gender was something that usually happened when their biological traits were different, like when an omega slept with a beta or alpha. But the idea of a beta sleeping with another beta, or an alpha with an alpha-it didn’t make sense. Yet, Dane Striker before him seemed unaffected by any of these considerations.
“If I want to sleep with someone, I sleep with them. What does their biology have to do with it? I didn’t know you were so particular when it came to your bedmates?”
His words implied that not only did he disregard biological traits, but gender as well. How wild was this guy? On top of that, Dane added this advice:
“You should love everyone, embrace the spirit of universal love.”
“Heh.”
Grayson couldn’t help but let out a hollow laugh.
“Did you know him before?”
“No, I met him when the fire happened, and this is the second time.”
This made Grayson even more confused. A beta didn’t need to release pheromones, so why would he sleep with someone he’d only met twice? And to do it so casually, without a second thought? Grayson still couldn’t understand the situation, but Dane had no intention of explaining himself. Why should he?
Grayson, even though he already knew the answer, couldn’t suppress his curiosity. There was only one reason left.
“I never thought he’d be your type. Don’t tell me you have no preferences at all?”
“Of course, I have my standards.”
Dane replied lightly, but for Grayson, this only added to the confusion.
“Really? You came here to hook up with him? From the start?”
With that sucker? Grayson kept asking to make sure, and Dane, smirking, replied.
“Then why do you think I came here for lunch? Think, if you have a brain.”
Dane tapped his second finger on his head as if to emphasize his point, adding with disdain.
“I came here to eat George, you idiot.”
Grayson was left speechless, his mind boggled. He had never been this lost for words. What on earth was happening?
But standing there dumbfounded wasn’t an option. Seeing that Dane was about to leave, Grayson quickly called out.
“Wait a second.”
Dane paused and turned, his brows furrowed in irritation. This might be his last chance, so Grayson hastily spoke. What came out next was something he hadn’t expected either.
“How about the three of us?”
A cold silence fell over the parking lot.
Dane said nothing, his expression showing clear disgust, which was more than enough to reveal his feelings without any words.
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?”
Dane asked, his voice raised slightly in disbelief. Naturally, Grayson was just as perplexed by what he’d said. But this moment of confusion didn’t last long. It had been a sudden idea, but wasn’t it actually a good one?
“I’m not into suckers, but you are. So how about the three of us?”
Grayson regained his usual calm and added leisurely.
“It’s about time to release some pheromones anyway.”
Of course, the latter part was just his own situation, but he couldn’t come up with any better reason for all three of them to sleep together. That was what Grayson thought, but Dane didn’t share his view.
“Since you asked about my preferences, I’ll tell you.”
Dane gave Grayson a meaningful look, scanning him from head to toe, and frowned slightly.
“I prefer someone smaller than me. You’re too big for cuddling.”
Grayson, pointing out Dane’s biological limitations, actually seemed pleased by this and answered with a grin. “Oh, we’re alike in that. I like someone smaller too. Like you.”
“Hahahaha.”
Grayson placed his hand near Dane’s head to demonstrate the height difference, then brought it back to his own head with a playful gesture. Dane smirked and laughed loudly, clearly enjoying the moment. Instead of answering, he raised his third finger and got into the car. By that time, George, who had been waiting in the passenger seat, asked Dane.
“Are you really just going to leave it like this? Just leave that guy?”
“He’ll manage.”
Dane started the car and said.
“I hate being bothered.”
“Don’t hassle me.”
…Huh?
Grayson, who had been standing there until then, suddenly snapped out of his trance. It was right after that Dane drove off with George, leaving Grayson alone in the parking lot, frozen in disbelief.
“Ha ha ha!”
As Grayson returned alone, his teammates burst into laughter as if they’d been waiting for him. Grayson immediately scowled, but they ignored him and mocked him.
“Dane got you good!”
“Did you think that calling Dane out was going to be something special? When Dane follows someone out, it means they’re going to sleep with them. You didn’t know that, huh?”
“You three left together, but you got out of the cab alone? I’ve never seen a lonelier scene in my life!”
As they continued to laugh, Grayson leaned silently against the wall, waiting for their laughter to die down. After what felt like a long time, they finally quieted down, and only then did Grayson speak.
“Had your fun, huh? Well, I have a question.”
“What is it?”
“What is it?”
The guys, still wearing smiles from their laughter, asked, their faces now calmer. Even though Grayson had been their adversary, it seemed that laughter had a way of easing people’s hearts. Grayson, patiently waiting for the right moment, smiled and asked.
“How long does it usually take for Dane to come back?”
“Well, he’ll probably use the time for lunch, so it’ll be at most 1 hour? 2 hours?”
Diandre laughed, but the expressions of the others changed at the same time, their faces stiffening. Why was
Grayson asking about that? What was he planning?
Grayson frowned as he noticed their suspicious reactions.
“What’s wrong? Did I say something wrong?”
“Uh, uh?”
“Uh… no, no.”
“Nothing. Haha, ha ha ha!”
With awkward laughter, the men slowly backed away. One by one, they headed outside, leaving Grayson alone
inside.
“What’s going on? What’s happening?”
Diandre, dragged out of the room in confusion, asked. His clueless teammate, still not understanding the situation, was scolded by Ezra, who burst into his outfit and snapped.
“Why the hell is Grayson asking about Dane? Did you forget what the team leader said before? We need to keep
Dane and that guy apart as much as possible! What if Grayson finds out that Dane knocked that guy out twice and knocked him out cold? What will we do then!”
