Desire Me If You Can [Novel] - Chapter 18
At least he’d learned one thing. That the person he was looking for was a woman. He couldn’t remember anything else, but he was certain he had seen a magnificent pair of breasts before collapsing. Unfortunately, he couldn’t recall their shape or size.
The problem was how to find her. Extreme Omegas could completely conceal their pheromones and often passed as Betas. But if she released her pheromones, revealing her true nature, Grayson would experience another pheromone shock and faint. Then the same cycle would repeat itself.
Наа.
He sighed deeply and ran his hands roughly through his hair. He had tried to be patient, but after missing her right in front of him twice, he couldn’t afford to be leisurely anymore. He had to find her. Quickly. But there was something even more important.
How can I make sure I don’t lose her again?
No answer came to mind. As he grimaced in frustration, an idea flashed through his mind.
Right, that bastard would know…!
Grayson immediately sped up. His sports car cut through the darkness, racing down the empty road.

“Darling.”
Tap, tap, tap.
As soon as he entered the house, his cat came to greet him, as if he had been waiting. Dane readily scooped him up, stroking his fur gently and kissing the top of his head. The cat in his arms purred and nuzzled his face against Dane’s chest, bumping him with his small, cold nose.
“Wait, I’ll refill your water soon.”
Darling meowed softly and swished his tail, as if he could understand what he was saying. Leaving the cat to settle comfortably on his shoulder, Dane began his after-work routine.
He changed Darling’s litter and water, then gave him a treat. The satisfied cat started grooming himself clumsily. Dane patted Darling’s bottom and headed to the bathroom. It was finally his time now.
“Phew.”
After taking a shower, he sat on the sofa and drank a beer. Darling, as if on cue, came over to him. The cat, rescued from a fire, was blind in one eye and deaf. Despite this, he always managed to find Dane, wherever he was, and snuggle up to him like this.
As usual, Dane picked up the cat, who was rubbing against his leg and meowing, and placed him on his lap. He slowly stroked the comfortably settled cat and relaxed.
Suddenly, he remembered the absurd incident that happened a few hours earlier.
That bastard is looking for me?
Could he have figured out that it was Dane who caused the pheromone shock and knocked him unconscious? That had never happened before.
This was becoming a headache. If he had known, he wouldn’t have used his pheromones today.
Ugh.
Dane groaned.
“Why was that crazy bastard just standing there watching?”
He cursed, but it wouldn’t change anything. There was a fifty-fifty chance Miller remembered him from when he woke up.
If he finds out…
Dane clicked his tongue in annoyance.
Well, if that happens, I’ll just move to another station.
There were plenty of places he could go, and he was always ready to leave. All he needed was his old car, loaded with just two things; a suitcase and Darling’s carrier.
“Time for bed, Darling.”
He picked up the cat from his lap and stood up. Darling, as if waiting, rubbed his head against Dane’s face. He took two or three stairs at a time and headed to his bedroom. As usual, Darling settled down beside him in bed, and they both quickly fell asleep.

Keith Knight Pittman was in an extremely foul mood. Anyone would feel the same if they were forced to entertain an uninvited guest who had disturbed the tranquility of their home in the dead of night, interrupting a sound sleep.
Emitting a strong wave of displeasure through his pheromones, he glared at the man sitting across from him in the living room.
“Grayson Miller, do you know what time it is?”
“2 AM.”
Grayson answered promptly and shamelessly. Keith’s eyebrow twitched once, and he sighed, closing his eyes and rubbing his forehead.
“So, what’s the reason for this late-night visit? I was sleeping.”
At this point, Grayson would normally start rambling nonsensically. For instance, he might comment on the pleasant weather or say he suddenly thought of him.
But today, he was different. His cold, hardened expression was proof of that. It wasn’t a good sign that Grayson, who always wore a fake smile, was showing his true face.
“I have a question.”
“Spit it out. And then get out of here quickly.”
The last part was practically spat out. Keith sounded like he was grinding his teeth, but Grayson, unfazed, asked,
“Do you know how to track down an Extreme Omega?”
“What?”
Keith’s brow furrowed even deeper. Grayson, unable to hide his impatience, ran a hand through his hair at Keith’s look of disbelief, as if asking what kind of nonsense he was spouting when he suddenly appeared in the middle of the night.
“You’re the only one I can ask. So tell me, you know, don’t you?”
Keith and Grayson had something in common: they were both born to Extreme Omegas. The same type Grayson was searching for.
However, the only one who could answer Grayson’s question was Angel, the Extreme Omega who had given birth to Keith. Unlike Koi, Angel frequently disappeared, and Keith’s fathers, including his Extreme Alpha father, always had to track him down and bring him back.
Until now, their actions had been nothing more than amusing spectacle for Grayson. It was, after all, none of his business. But now, things were different. Being in the same situation himself, his anxiety was
immeasurable.
Keith, however, simply frowned at the anxious Grayson and replied,
“No, there’s no such thing.”
The blood drained from Grayson’s face. Keith, having mercilessly crushed his only hope, sneered as he asked again. He wasn’t known for having a good temperament on a normal day, but given his foul mood right now, he was even less inclined to filter his words.
“Use your brain. If such a thing existed, why would my father and the others go through all that trouble?”
It was such an undeniable truth that there was no room for him to argue. Grayson had clung to this as the only possible solution, but now that he realized it was futile, he felt truly at a loss for the first time.
Seeing Grayson close his eyes, tilt his head back, and sigh heavily, Keith paused, then added,
“As you know, Extreme Omegas develop a mark above their hips when they’re aroused during sex.” Grayson looked at him at his slow words. Why didn’t he think of that?
No, even if he had seen it, he wouldn’t have remembered. The only thing he could recall was the breathtaking sight of her breasts. Grayson barely managed to swallow down another heated sigh threatening to escape his mouth.
“Is there any way to induce a heat cycle in an Extreme Omega?”
Regardless, the only person who might have the information he needed was Keith. At his question, Keith
let out a short chuckle and asked in return,
“You’d need at least five Extreme Alphas. Think you can manage that?”
Grayson’s brows furrowed and fell silent, but Keith remained indifferent.
“Now you understand why Angel has five Extreme Alpha partners.”
“Haa…”
This time, he couldn’t hold back his sigh. He rubbed his forehead as if he had a headache and muttered,
as if to himself,
“There’s no other way. I’ll just have to find out through sex.”
“Not a bad method.”
Keith also agreed. Sleeping around was exactly what Grayson had always done. He could release his
pheromones and find his partner at the same time, which was killing two birds with one stone.
“This was very helpful, thank you.”
As Grayson stood up and thanked him, Keith frowned and grumbled,
“Don’t barge in like this again, you’re such a nuisance.”
But despite his words, Keith knew full well that if Grayson needed something again, he would show up
unannounced, just as he had this time. Sure enough, instead of promising not to, Grayson simply narrowed his eyes and looked at him with a strange smile.
Standing by the window, Keith watched Grayson’s car leave the mansion, and thought,
Should I just move to the East Coast?
